Many of us have questions about the bible, or what the Bible has to say about certain topics. At CCFM, we want to provide biblical answers to those seeking the truth and God's heart. For this reason, we provide an avenue for you to submit your questions to our pastors! We will review the submissions and post our biblical answers here for all to reference. The question form is anonymous, so please ask whatever may be on your heart.
Is anger a sin?
Anger is a normal human emotion, and it is a trait we share with our Creator, God, Who exhibits anger toward sin. Therefore, anger can be righteous or it can be unrighteous.

The Bible says we may be angry so long as we do not sin through our anger:

[Eph 4:26 NKJV] 26 "Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath,

Scripture also warns against being too quick to show anger:

[Pro 15:1 NKJV] 1 A soft answer turns away wrath, But a harsh word stirs up anger.

[Pro 15:18 NKJV] 18 A wrathful man stirs up strife, But [he who is] slow to anger allays contention.

[Pro 16:32 NKJV] 32 [He who is] slow to anger [is] better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
